The Transition Study Group

The Transition Study Group, originally scheduled for this Monday, April 8th, at 7 PM, will begin on the next Monday, the 15th and continue for six weeks. The class will be held at the Presbyterian Church from 7 to 9 PM. There hasn’t been enough response yet to get a full class, so I will be publicizing the class more widely to build attendance. If you would like to participate, please contact me by email or give me a call at 206-265-9929 to sign up and get a study guide. The study group is free, but you need to get a copy of the Transition Companion book. You can get a loaner, or purchase it at the Vashon Bookstore or through other sources.

The Transition Companion is a compendium of practical advice and real world examples from places all around the world that are moving their communities towards a more sustainable twenty-first century model. It includes discussions of local agriculture, energy descent strategies, local currencies, co-ops, tool libraries, building refitting projects, and a host of other topics too numerous to mention. All are examples of real world projects that Transition Towns around the world have actually done.

If you have questions or want to discuss the course content further, give me a call. I look forward to seeing our new group get started next week.
