Author David Laskin joins us to discuss his most recent book “The Family: Three Journeys Into the Heart of the Twentieth Century” which describes and explores the story of David’s Family: those who perished in the Holocaust, those who escaped to America and those who escaped to Israel.
This program will explore themes of the latter half of the 20th century: war, displacement, and rebirth in a new land; through the eyes and hearts of one family. It will take us into the realm of memory and identity, and the importance of telling our stories.
David’s personal exploration of his family story becomes the narrative of a people; their reaction to crisis and their commitment to remember the past while building a new future.
