Did you know that everything that ever was made from metal, including the blacksmith’s tools, were made by the smithy? In this two-day workshop, you will learn about blacksmithing history, tools of the trade, safety and basic techniques, including: tapering, fullering, bending and scrolls, twists, hammer control, anvil anatomy and use, and heat treatment of the metal. You’ll make your own basic small tools like nails, skewers, and dinner bells, as well as your own full size knife. If time permits, there might be an option to make your own sheathe too.
This is a two-day workshop.
