We heard from the women in June, now it's time to hear from the men. At "When I was just a boy..." we will hear stories of what it was like to grow up on old Vashon, from the 1920's through the 1940's, and more stories of memorable Vashon events occurring during the following decades. Guest speakers will include Bill Garvin, Tom Lorentzen and Gene Sherman. The talk will be introduced and moderated by a great storyteller himself, Joe Meeker. During the talk, photos from old Vashon, courtesy of the Vashon-Maury Heritage Association, will be projected. This talk is part of Vashon Community Care's Telling Stories Speaker Series, by and about Vashon Locals. Ticket sales are by donation and are available in advance at Vashon Bookshop or VCC.
