Opera Preview Program

Seattle Opera's upcoming double bill of Poulenc's La Voix Humaine and Puccini's Suor Angelica offers a wonderful contrast of both emotional and musical styles. La Voix Humaine (1959) is a startling mono-drama in which a woman on the phone has a nervous breakdown before our eyes, while Suor Angelica (1918) is a tenderly sentimental story of a young nun who makes a fateful decision to rejoin her dead "love-child" in heaven. Norm Hollingshead presents a program on these two one-act operas at the Vashon-Maury Senior Center, 10004 SW Bank Rd.
