Make up planting event at Maury Island Marine Park

Sadly our Martin Luther King, Jr Day of Service event had to be postponed due to snow and freezing rain. We are rescheduling that event for February 11th from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. Join People For Puget Sound and King County Parks to remove invasive blackberry and plant native trees and shrubs in their place. Maury Island Marine Park is a beautiful King County park connecting Puget Sound and Vashon-Maury Island. It is also a former gravel mine that has seen decades of soil disruption and invasive plant growth. People For Puget Sound and King County have been working with volunteers to revegetate the shoreline with native plants since 2009.

Come spend the day "on the beach" and if it's clear, you'll get a spectacular view of Mount Rainier, and if it's not you'll still have fun getting dirty while planting!
