Avaaza, from the Persian word for voice, gives new meaning to the word when local and regional musicians take the stage for an evening of passionate and evocative vocal and instrumental music from around the world. Influenced by music from the Mediterranean region (Flamenco, Gypsy, Arabic and Persian) the diverse styles are complemented by the ensemble members themselves: Terri Garrett, clarinet; Charles Reed, guitar; Kenyon Curtis, classical and world guitar; Anil Prasa, tabla; Jason Everett, bass.
