Lecture: Understanding the Experience of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Forms of Dementia

Daring to Feel Well: Reclaiming Wellbeing in the Early Stages of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Forms of Dementia

In this free lecture Dr. Ataie weaves together two different views of dementia: the medical model and the perspective of those living with the illness. Drawing on her research with people in the early stages of dementia, she dispels the cultural myth that the experience of dementia consists exclusively of loss and decline.

The “Picture Strengths” exhibit featuring a selection of photographs taken by twenty people with early-stage dementia during a research project will also be part of this lecture.
