Story of an Abandoned Doll, a play in Spanish

Join us outdoors at the Saturday Market to see an outdoor play production! Historia de una Muneca Abandonada (Story of an Abandoned Doll) is a play for children by Spanish playwright Alfonso Sastre, directed by Anna Witte and performed by students from her Spanish Play Production course at the University of Washington. The play draws on different sources, from an ancient Chinese folktale to Bertold Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle, and tells the story of a rich girl, a poor girl and the doll they both claim as their own. The production is in Spanish, but the story is simple and easy to follow, great for the kids and adults alike. Be ready to learn a few words, songs and games. In case of inclement weather, the play will be held in the Vashon Library meeting room.
